    Outstandingly good!
I binned at 7:35am...phoned Dave by 9:15am...approved shortly-ish after...assessor arrived at work and took me to my home....assessed the bike the day after the bin!

State insurance is offensive to deal with to say the very least!
I've never been treated like such a criminal even when I was one...serious!
The accident in which I made the claim was shown by the Police to be road surface related and not rider error yet State made it as painful as possible and the whole claim took nearly 3 months to finalise.
    Wankers...serious!

went on the kiwibike website and sent off a quote request to insure two bikes
after just over a week i hadnt had a reply i emailed them and got some excuse about being away or something, a week later the quote arrived. gave me the feeling that if it takes that long for a quote how long would a claim take??

Yep- nice folk but not too good on the email responses. I'm waiting for a reply to a simple question- and before you ask why not phone- emailing is free, and it suits my hours better than phone calls, plus there's a trail of who said what. My view is that if you are unable to service a facility properly (e.g. email) then don't offer it.

    Ha! 2nd insurance claim on a vehicle...EVER!
Excess is $500.00 on the road for either myself or my nominated rider....$1000.00 for someone else with a full liciense.
This is for the Bleck Duc which I have insured for $42,000 so IMFO it's BLOODY GOOD!

BTW...I'm covered at any of the MottoTT trackdays!

    easier than drive-thru mcdonalds

after reading this thread (and seeing the ad at the top of the page) I checked out kiwibike insurance. Their new online signup instantly provided interim cover for my new/first bike for 14 days. full cover for me in spite of my noobness and the bike not being garaged (tho i have a great cover) is just $355 a year - incl GST, which they don't mention in the initial quote. My excess is $500.
I signed up on sunday night, the email was instant of course and by Wednesday the papers were in the letterbox. That's pretty damn quick.

All up it's cheaper than the full cover I had on my last car 2 years ago, after 5 years of no claims bonuses (60%) and that was garaged.
I can only forsee it getting cheaper as I rack up a history.
So far I'd have to give them a big thumbs up.
