That's rough, can you go the owner of the gravel for compensation?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Ahh shit...

First up, sorry to hear that Sparky anyway you sound okay - which is sorta cliche-ish but it's the main thing aye.

That SUCKS buddy, and its a new one.. ...worst thing is it duznt sound like it was your fault, hope ya get it sorted soon.
Actually, i don't wanna preach here, but i just finished a book on riding technique and road craft, and the main point made by the author seemed to be that EVERYTHING is your fault. Even when another road user takes you out there's usually something you could have done beforehand to ensure you weren't in a position to be put in danger in the first place.

Which sounds harsh, but it boils down to taking responsibility for everything you do out there, which is what we all should be doing.

    Excellent!

I'm now officially absolved of all blame! For everything!

Sorry to hear that your bike went down. That really hurts when this happens, yet happen it does! I have to say the contractors down there are a bloody disgrace as that road is just a damned mess.

The only thing that actually broke was my right hand peg, from when it flipped over.
Left side all scratched up, right bar bent inc lever.
Tank and rear fairings didnt touch. Helmet had a pretty good knock.
Leathers... Well what can i say.. Those who question them can eat shit!
They saved my limbs for sure.

Had crash bungs on it, looks like they did their job. The left one broke off, and right one bent. But all up they saved my bike nicely.
Will get some pics up soon.

Anyway, it's good to hear that you have escaped largely unscathed. The planet Earth can be a bit unforgiving on plastic-wrapped bikes.

Take it easy for a couple of days, delayed shock and all that.

    SOAB!!!

Sorry to hear that Sparky! You said the fairings weren't actually broken, but if you need it, I have one side (right hand side) of the 04 R1 fairings. You're welcome to them, they are scratched though.

Hope you restore the bike to it's full glory soon as!
    Dave.
