Actually, i don't wanna preach here, but i just finished a book on riding technique and road craft, and the main point made by the author seemed to be that EVERYTHING is your fault. Even when another road user takes you out there's usually something you could have done beforehand to ensure you weren't in a position to be put in danger in the first place.

Which sounds harsh, but it boils down to taking responsibility for everything you do out there, which is what we all should be doing.
Your right if the silly bugga hadnt been on the road at all he would be fine :sly: Sorry but i dont agree, i have been hit from behind at a set of lights years ago...i dont see how i could have avoided it other than never riding....but i could be wrong( it would be the first time)

    Bike should be sweet.
Just need to do a bit of heating and bending, and get a new foot peg.
Will not look pretty, but Ill still able to ride.
Looks like the back wheel has done a decent slide going by the edge of the tyre. Lucky not to have high sided! Might not have been such a simple fix.

Most riding trainers say sit to one side of the vehicle in front (if there is one) so youhave room to move out of harms way. You'll be in 1st not neutral, obviously scanning rearview mirrors frequently, clutched in and ready to go - where you go is up to you, obviously not into the path of oncoming traffic. Once there are one or two stationary vehicles behind you, you're safe to relax.

The point being if you have an off, for any reason, look at why and then see how you could avoid it next time. Make it your responsibility. If you don't, you make it somebody elses and nobody else wnats to save your skin as much as you do.

I laughed when I dropped mine last weekend. But the damage was light, and it's four years old now (but I still love it ).

Sorry to hear about your bin Sparky. It's a bitch when they fall down from under you.

I'd be telling the insurance company about road conditions, and maybe mentioning it to the council too.

There seems to be a fair swag of road works around at the moment.

Gini and I had to take a detour going to the hospital last night (long story not suitable for here) and now they're digging up the road around the corner from my house (must remember that one).

A lesson to us all - be ever vigilant.

GWS. And don't worry about the bike...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Sorry to hear about that mate . ....Still maybe it's because you let an Auck ride it and it's had a delayed reaction ...!!!
A man can move much faster without a millstone around his neck, so if he gets the chance to lose her he'd better drop her and run like heck !! .. (10cc "Modern Man Blues" - Deceptive Bends)
