Moving bike still photos

I just came across these two images in my vast collection of photos.

I took them one day as an experiment with a 35mm panorama pinhole camera. Exposures were in the order of 6-20 seconds.

From a standstill I opened the shutter and then took off on my KTM as the image was made.
Obviously I was going a bit faster in one than in the other

I know many have taken video but has anyone else sho9t interesting still images while riding their bike?

Very cool. That first pic is an almost perfect visualisation of what I see when I'm riding (tunnel vision - only not in b & w).

quality. looks like something someone would spend hours doing in photoshop and charge you heaps for..haha! where can i get one of these cameras?

idleidolidyll thats a very good shot with good effect I might use that idea for a "project" im working on. There is a sight called photosig.com thats basically a post and rate site. There is some talented photographers on there that will give you ratings on your foto and also give you hints on what to change. Its not all about bikes just any foto's go have a look on there for some more ideas

Most good point and click cameras have that ability (well at least the new once) but you can spends alot of money on gear and then have the problem on how to mount them. Go have a look at some of the sony camera they tend to have shutter speed settings you can set

hah all good. yeh i tend to spend more money on cellphones than cameras, just bought a $600 dealy (obviously its AWESOME)..so a camera may come into play sometime.
need a bike to mount it to first..

To be honest though, I don't go to those sites much. I've been a photographer for many many years and ran a studio in Chch. I've also taught photography in a couple of places.
I like to show people my pics but I'm not interested in ratings.

The image is a back to basics shot. just a piece of film in a box with a tiny hole in the front and a bit of black sticky tape over the hole until needed.

exposure is by guesswork mostly but experience makes the guess more accurate.

I also have a custom made 5x4" pinhole camera with film backs. That one is a lot sharper but still as basic as it gets.

Long live film! Long live lensless imaging!

I think the camera shop on K Rd in Auckland sells pinholes.
Auckland cameras on New Nth Rd also used to.

Best though is to google pinhole cameras and make your own in half an hour.

The other way to go is to buy an old crappy plastic camera off TardMe, remove the lens and glue a brass pinhole over it.

That way you can load a roll of film (120 is best) and you have a shutter release.

All up $25 or so.
