It's vitally important that you don't sink any ships while you're here - the Kiwis get annoyed about that sort of thing. Other than that - Bienvenue en Neo Zealande!

    Hi Judec welcome aboard.
Unfortunately New Zealand customs won't allow you to take your bike back out of the country. However for a small fee I will store it in my workshop & keep it serviced until your next trip over.

You will have a great time over here.

For a start you could have a look at my web site www.advroutes.org.nz Hopefully over the next couple of months I will add a lot more north island routes and a few more south island routes.

I wouldnt worry about the laws too much if you are off road (on gravel roads) - haven't come across a policeman on a gravel road yet For true off road you will either need landowner permission or you shouldn't go there.

For road riding you might like to have a read through some of the NZ Road Code. There is a basic version online here.

You'll have a great time here, lots of perfect roads and nice weather at that time of year. Great bike you have, I'm looking at getting an HP2 too, a Megamoto. ciao MVnut.

What an incredible thread. I sat & read the whole thing. I was looking at my own backyard thinking I've never seen it that way before.

That sure is a great read but don't be thinking that the number is still the same. It is 1958 or something similar when we went through at Queens Birthday weekend this year.

I've got the contact details for the two stations that you pass through when doing this route and hope to get them onto my web site (have permission from one station - need to chase up the other) in the next couple of months.
