    Sunny Sundays - yay!

Went for a ride from Haumo to Waimarama on the weekend! Got the pass out so off I went! Great feeling just being on the road and rolling! Got to Waimarama and celebrated with an ice cream! It's a grrreat road to ride. Even passed 2 utes! I thought I'd be really slow around the corners but turns out I'm faster than a Toymota Hilux (woo yay).

Now all I need is for someone to show me how to corner properly...

I can't see how people can't corner properly... have you got the hang of countersteering? What I'm doing is just taking everything in small steps, not pushing myself too far, and definately not too hard. Today I leaned over the most I had ever before, I thought the bike was going to crash or something (well, I didn't know what to expect), then I noticed that for the rest of the ride I had the balls to lean over that far in every corner. Once you learn it you'll never forget it... unless you seriously smash yourself and get amnesia, but let's hope that doesn't happen!

I went out for my first long ride(s) this weekend. Yesterday I went to Wellsford and back, then to hamilton, then today I went to Ruakaka. All up I've done 845km in just two days. Pretty good for the first ever long riding weekend.

Countersteering is weird! Haven't got the hang of it yet. Just down to experience at this stage (or severe lack of it...) Remember this is the newbie's posting area - Yup, I'm very much a newbie!
