    Jayracer37 and Sisterecho moving South!

    Hi everyone

Jay and I are in the midst of packing up our lives with the intention of moving to Christchurch in about three weeks time. We are VERY excited.

We haven't yet found a place to rent, so if anyone knows of a suitable property (at least two bedrooms, maximum $300/week) please PM either of us.

    Many thanks for your time.

    Rachelle (and Jay)

Our trouble is we're not so sure of suburbs. We know we want to be somewhere between the city and the track, so I guess west-ish. We have been looking on Trade Me but we don't really want to get in contact with rental agencies or landlords until we are able to go and view the properties.

I just thought if someone new a friend of a friend of a friend who had a rental property then it could make life a little easier for us, considering moving to another island while Jay's still a bit handicapped is going to be hard enough!

Apparently Aranui is the sort of suburb that Jay would fit right into.

we are just moving out of our place in kainga, pretty much a straight run to the track from there, nice place rents out at 275 though, big garage 3bdrm large kitchen and a fire in the lounge.
It will be up for rent as there is not anybody for it yet, only prob is landlords have a seperate self contained unit out back that they rent out as well.
Not so bad if you know somebody else looking to flat as well

    yeee haaaaaaaaaaa your moving down...

Yes there is a god! The Jay god

Watching you race is like watching poetry in motion!!!!
This now means you'll be racing locally and when you're all healed up, we get to see more of that Jay poetry

A Mate has just let his out, I'll ask around though.
Suburbs.... Halswell, Hornby, Hei Hei (new home area) Avon head are just some of the many burbs that are close to Ruapuna.
Ruapuna isn't far from most though, 30mins and your on the other side of the city.
Best advise I could give is get a feel for the place and have a look around some areas firstly, ask some locals too. Like all cities there are some areas that are on the shady side, hi burg rate.
Some also tend to have those bike rif raf types too

O and winter here? it's cold as shit!
Standard winters day... Suns out but it's still feels like -2.

Have you guys got a place to stay / base yourselves at till you find a flat?
If ys need a hand just ask, more than happy to help ys out.

We have been given the heads up on the ones to avoid! Why would Jay fit in... is there a good pie shop there?

We have a few friends that we are cautiously buttering up to stay with. We don't like the idea of invading people's homes but you're right, it is best to get a feel for the suburbs before rushing into a house.
