    Kiwi Choppa

Can you get any more recycled than this for an electric rat bike?

Dad decided that he would build this out of parts he found over the road where people dump their junk etc.

It has a foot switch to press and go. Top speed is 12km/hr
    No suspension or brakes lol.

But after he built it he decided he would go pro, and so he purchased an electric scooter. Back in his day he used to be a biker, and a scooter is about all he can handle for a bike now which makes me sad.

He calls himself "Grandpa biker" which made me laugh. When he bought the new electric scooter, he was so proud to show me it. Said "go on have a go" I said no and insisted he show me the learn on it.

Riding around on the road outside my parents house, he had the biggest smile, wind blowing his hair back, no helmet, and not a care in the world. I felt we really did share something special that day. I gave it a go and was very impressed, despite the fact there was no engine sound, as soon as the throttle was twisted the power was there. I liked it.

Said to him no matter how big the bike is two wheels is two wheels and that open freedom on the road is the best. I gave him my spare codura gear, gloves helmet etc, and he rides it everywhere. Going down to the shops is a 10 min ride but its enough for him and makes him happy.

Its these little things which my dad appreciates. He had a quadruple bypass, cancer and had a 1kg tumour removed from him. 2 years ago the hospital sent him home to die as his cancer was too far gone. But he was determined to cure it himself.

So here we are 2 years later and hes riding around like he's a young hoon. It's a big thing for him and I like the smile he wears when hes on his scooter. His latest MRI came back clear. He is a walking miracle for having the strength and dertermination to pull through what he did.

I promised him I'd post up the pics of his home made bike...This is for you dad !

Imagine a boy racer trying on the scooter, then the engine seizing. Then the little toy scooter races up the side of the broken piece of sh*t boy racer car.

Okay I have a sick sick mind... weird too.

Kiwi ingenuity at it's finest mate, well done to your dad about the bike and the cancer!
