    Just bought an FXR150

Yay! Some of you will remember me asking a few weeks ago for suggestions on a bike, the general consensus was either FXR or GN, I just bought (tonight) an FXR150 for $1010!!!

There are a couple of issues, but my friend's father is a motorcycle mechanic and he said he'd be happy to help me fix it up.

    So, without further ado, here is my bike;
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=171663404

I will call the shipping company tomorrow to organise shipping, but in the mean time, any suggestions for when it arrives? Anything to do while i wait for it? Where in Christchurch should i head to for a helmet and some leathers (or cordura, i don't really mind)? How do i stop wishing time would go faster!?!???!?!

Thanks for all the advice, and looking forward to responses from you all,

    Joel

"I never knew lawnmowers came with electric start."

That was going to be my smart arse comment until I saw that it had a new muffler so it didn't sound like a lawnmower. My mate just got himself one of these bikes, they're alright bikes to be honest, only problem I see is night riding with those small headlights.

Bloody good to hear that you've got a bike though, it's amazing how much fun they are! Plus with a bike like this, your fuel economy will be F***ing amazing!

Wow - good score dude. With the help to get it sorted it might be all road legal without needing too much $ - You'll be riding around in no time! Even if you have to spend a few hundy sorting it out + WoF + Reg - you should have a decent wee ride that cost less than $2k.

Once it is all sorted and on the road you will have very cheap transport (even my 400cc machine gets over 25km/l (over 70mpg) around the city, a 150cc should be VERY cheap on gas).

Good luck with your new ride and take care!

FXR is a good learners bike. You've made the right choice

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Hey, well the best place to get gear is:
    1. Budget Motorcycles (near moorhouse ave.) I bought so much stuff from them it aint funny and they always gave me the best deal in town

    2. Pit Lane on manchester. Awesome place, usually the first I go to

    3. Sports Zone suzuki. If you have the deep pockets go there.

Trademe ofcourse is where I go, coz... being a student and all... yeah... sigh!
