Really, nowadays no reason why a rider shouldn't keep on going until the end. Or at any rate, as long as in a car. Electric starters have removed the sex and age restrictions from biking.
I agree with you there Ixion.

Add cruisers and scooters with their low center of gravity and seat height to your list of aids/improvements.

Personally I find the Tiger's height/wieght a bit tricky for my skinny old legs at times these days!

Doug B at 76? I think is one of KB's oldest members but I know a few in their 80's still out their riding two wheels. John.

My first bike was a 1950 AJS it was one of the first bikes with rear springing. I have had ten bikes since then and last year purchased my 12th a Suzuki Burgman 400cc maxi scooter, which I have had up to 150KMPH. I am expecting to get a speeding ticket soon.

I ride almost daily, mostly commuting, but went from Hamilton to Auckland to a meeting yesterday.

My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversiry on Saturday, she still has her motorcycle licence but finds the Burgman too heavy for her.

I was, and may be still, the oldest member of this and the Burgman USA forums

I suspect there are many more riders out there in their 70's and 80's who have not got computers.
Great to hear from you. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Anyone can ride, but staying married for 50 years is notable!

Wrong again....i think you will find they were looms (room computers) or transistors.
Personal computers (the ones you are referring to) were invented by much younger chaps. Most retired well before their 40's.

The oldest biker I know is one of our Ulysses Club members. I'm not sure of his exact age but he must be well into his 70's, maybe 80.

I put a video of him on YouTube.

Listen to what he says at the end of the video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4jENCN-HNk

Can someone tell me how to insert a video, or a photo? I cannot see those options. Thanks.

True true, Ignore the wisdom and experience of the older biker generation at your peril. I've nothing but respect for em.

Any one ever heard of Vale Onslow, Semi famous in Britland, still riding in his nineties, I think he may have left us now mores the pitty, that bloke had engine oil for blood.

Edit; Apologies, Len left us in 2004 at 103 years of age and rode up to 102 years old. Amazing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Len_Vale-Onslow

Well I'm feeling much better. Thought I was out of my tree learning to ride at 60. Rode (fell off) a 150 Vespa in the mid 60's, hated it. Love my GN250 but want a proper one now. Only a couple of months before I can sit my restricted, then on to a full. I can't afford to wish my life away. Boy, it makes me feel young again, where did the last 40 years go? did I enjoy it? can I do it again please, I'll get it right this time I promise.
