Big slide this morning on the way to work, what a rush!!

going around the Onehunga offramp & halfway around the bumpy sweeper doing around 100 on the cross-hatched 'passing lane' (lol) past the wharf driveway saw a large patch of what looked like still wet red paint spilled on the road, no time to stop, cant straighten up as cranked over & a car coming the other way so hang on & wait for the hurt... front hit & started to go & Im thinking nosedive time but the back hit a split second later & kicked out bigtime actually saving the front. Anywho this all caused a big speedway style sideways slide for about 30 feet, straightened up just as another car came the other way. Got to work to suss what Id hit as the take from the next lights was a bit loose too only to find it was red coloured grease, a 4 litre must have dropped off a truck or ute right on the corner. Im still buzzing & thanking whoever dragged me through there. Used to slide around when I was younger but being reasonably new back to biking & a lot older its not something I go out & plan to do

So your Kat has nine lives?

Nice save. I guess the whole thing about you were used to it when younger kicked in, and you didn't do anything silly... like tense up.

Struth mate, that was a close one aye, well done on the save
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

    That was a good save.

Looks like you better come bucket racing then, at Mt Wellington Kart Track.
You will fit right in with an awesome stunt like that.

Plenty of us oldies there you know!

Just like riding a bike aye !!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
