4 photos from the adventure riders trip home.
Pics taken on the road above Port Levy near the top of the Western Valley Road.
Looking down the valley to Port Levy with the moon up there and cloud below us skirting the hills I just had to stop and get the camera out, .
The two pics the same were taken on different camera settings, always interesting to see how they turn out.

Thank you - I enjoyed following you on the way there. I agree we need to get out riding more often (any excuse!)

Some animals just have a death wish, happens a lot on dirt roads.
Last night I ran over a big rabbit or Hare while exiting a bend on the climb up out of Purau Bay on the way to Port Levy. I guess it was partly thanks to the DR650s big wheel and long travel suspension, I thought I had only clipped or brushed it but Tim said it was inside out when the DR spat it out the back at him.
A calf on the other hand is not something I'd want to bump in to.

The one which the flash was used was just on fully automatic, the photo without the flash I don't specifically recall but obviously it was a non flash, slightly longer exposure pre-set scene mode shot. I was actually surprised it wasn't all motion blurred.

Animals eh. I went straight over a cat once. The bugger ran out on the road right in front of me. Went bump bump right over him. Apparently he did a rolly poly and then kept running!!

I've seen a dog run over by a bike too though. The dog didn't keep running.

Anyways, great ride last night. At the carpark I wasn't sure what the weather was going to do for us but when we got over the other side of the port hills it was magic. Good to see some new faces as always. See ya next week
