    I just couldn't resist

    I just had to rescue this poor unloved motorbike from a cruel fate.
    1989 xj900 bwith 40000km on the clock

    no plans except make it my ride to work bike--its actually in bloody good nick for its age.
    and it was sitting unridden for about 18 months. Its owner went overseas
    Ohh the missing sidecover was just me pulling it off to get to the battery

    it looks like it is fairly clean... or did you get your little slave to clean it?

    Its actually a pretty clean example. runs badly on 18month old gas and the fork seals suprise suprise are leaking.

    holey crap batman. I was sorting out the beast and drained the oil.
    Its a 2.5l sump and Ive got a 4.0l drain pan. The bloody pan overflowed and ran all over the gargre floor. By my figuring there musta been at least 5.0l of oil in there--No wonder the airbox was kinda oily
