    One day to go

Bike already to go with new Kenda trackmaster full knobly fitted to the rear, pack racks removed and off road sprockets fitted.

Cheating and taking the van with the bike in so i dont have to put up a tent and will sleep in the van.

Have got plenty of drinkies packed but i must remember to fit the route sheet holder tonight.

    Weather looks MINT

Taking the YZ400 to a VMX meeting on the way home on Sunday so its going to be motorcycling nirvana weekend.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Forget about the road....Just tell them to stand on the pegs and look where you want to go, not at the wheel...lol

    Well, wot a weekend!

Went up friday evening, pitched tent, fed and watered, met up with new found friends from last weekend at Trounson. Still most machines seemed to arrive by trailer, not their own wheels....concern??

Up real early after f...-all sleep due to: fire siren, car alarms, boy-racers, the cops chaseing them.....bugga! Had set-up route sheet the nite before so felt quietly well in control! Out on the road by 8am, first page of route sheet parted with page 2 as I steamed along hiway to first turn-off...oh well, follow the guy in front! Won't do that again...he did not know how to read! All 20 of us got nearly back to Matamata before anyone decided to have a closer look at route sheet!
Finally got onto first off-road section...wet grass and 35psi don't work! As the Qk-pair also found out!!!!
The day progressed much slower than predicted, I by-passed the 'challenge' sections( learn't from last weekend!) and still got to lunch about 1-30!! Completed the whole route and back at camp a little after 6...375km done! I had trouble interpreting some route sheet instructions, which is why some will have noticed me going 'the wrong way' at times!!!
I was the only 1 to do the whole of Castle rock road....because the gate in the middle( which the organisers did NOT know even existed!!) was LOCKED and I had to do the 'supertanker shuffle' to get past the post and the drop-off into the water resioviour! I thought I was lost because of this...and the fact I could see NO bikes at all had EVER ventured this way!!
Was buggered and a little frustrated by the end of the day, but my new-found mates, Dave and Cliff had kindly put my beers in their campa's fridge, so a couple of those cheered me up NO end I can say!!!
Great meal, met some KBers, told some shit about how great a rider I am to some folk who don't know me!, yeah, it was an ok day.
Sunday, early breakers again and on the road north with Mark from Puke, we did all of the top end: Kenedy bay, stoney, over to Port Jackson etc, really enjoyed it all( Mark can tell you how the fairing on 1 side of the near new KLR got munted!) We had a really good run both up and down the coast road each way....oarsome!

Then I trickled home....uhhum.....1 wee problem.....I...arh....um, well see, I ran out of....ah......gas. Over the Mamakus. No, really I did!
Yes, I know its a Suzuki 'supertanker' with 35 litres capacity...but I just was having soooo much fun I lost 'touch' with the contents( or lack thereof), even when I couldn't see any fuel I felt there was enough to get to Rotorua??
Nice man from the AA couldn't stop smiling when he saw the size and TRANSPARANCY of the tank!( bet he wee'd himself once I was gone eh!!)

So it all ended well, a top weekend allround.
I'm no gynaecologist, however I would be happy to take a look......................
