Back on two wheels - yay

Was chatting to Backfire on MSN today and told him my neck was feeling pretty good today and I was really tempted to get on my bike and just go for a little ride. Well he suggested I ride round to his place (a couple of kms away) for a coffee and to see how it felt. Before he knew what hit him I was logged off MSN, had the bike out warming up and threw my gear on. Well that short ride felt pretty good, so after a couple of hours of drinking coffee and solving the world's problems, I hopped back on my bike and went for a short ride.
Headed through Hunua Gorge, a quick fiddle to find reserve and then a quick detour to Hunua Shell to fill up. Felt pretty good so far so I headed back to Papakura via Ponga Road - that would be a great road if it wasn't so bumpy and didn't have so many patches of loose gravel. Nevertheless it was devoid of traffic so I happily nana'd over at a top speed of 80kph.
On the whole it was pretty good, the only real time I felt discomfort was an extended wait at an intersection where I noticed the weight of the helmet on my neck.
So, fortunately, my head didn't fall off, and whilst there is a little bit of discomfort now, it is totally offset by the feeling of inner wellbeing I've got from getting out on my bike.
I think I would probably be the happiest wee cherub on the planet right now!! :spudbooge

Don't take it the wrong way - but about .25 millseconds after you created the thread, the sites Apache Server and the MYSQL database breathed a sigh of immense relief...

My bike will be getting it's WOF on Tuesday (due in Dec) so I can hopefully go and do my full licence in the next few weeks.
Also I don't know how I'll be just yet at faster pace with wind buffeting. Didn't want to try that today - was just so happy to be back on bike and going for nana ride. Might go for a short blat tomorrow and see how I go. Don't want to overdo things before going back to work.

Good to hear you're back on the bike again. Just in time for the sunny weather. Hey good luck for the full license test, although I don't think you'll need it.

Hope to be out with you soon.

Stoked to hear the good word. Best of luck with both the license and the whoring. Just how much has your post count gone up over the period you've been debiked?

    Yay Sue! :)

Thats so cool to hear, if you take it bit by bit you'll be out for the whole day in no time.

I went for a nice ride, all be it solo, up the Takas, to Martinborough, up the gladstone hill, water tower road and to Masterton. Saw a little of the airshow from the sidestreets. Back through Martinborough and home over the hill again. I just suffer quite badly from allergies, with the current crap in the air. I'm rubbing my eyes as we speak

    Ride safe.
    Dave.
