Shoulda taken some but have dismantled the engine now. Will take some of the cases. Was pretty funny sitting on top of a disintegrating engine.

Good spotting. Thanks for the email that guy has the two engines crf450r and the crf450x you emailed me about. If the engine stays around the price it is now I'll try and get it.
I checked ebay yesterday and couldn't find those two listings.

Its an 02. With the exchange rate I'd be better off buying a late model bike from here rather than buying those other ones.
Still there's hope with the ones you showed me today
    Cheers

I rekon buy a new CRF and find a CR500 motor for your old frame. A bit of work involved but would be dam cool.

Crankcase parts were equally two metres either side of the bikes. Would have been an impossible jigsaw puzzle. Cheers for the idea tho.

That'd be nice. Was going to just part it out and forget about it. But this came up.
May have found a complete lower engine unit for $360. With most of the important parts from my old engine for spares if anything needs replacing. Fingers crossed.
Still need a cylinder unit tho. Cos mine has a big conrod shaped dent in it.

Definately learnt my lesson and will buy a bike like yours next time.

Bought a lower end 450 engine today for $630. Have a complete ish set of spares too so should be good once assembled. Bit of a project but ah well.

Just looking forward to getting dirty again!!!!!!!
