It seems, mainly, to be the ones who putt around town that do so without protection.Perhaps its too hot in protective gear for them at town speeds...Those with the open road calling seem to ride prepared, and cool. It should really be law to wear an approved jacket, trou, gloves and footwear as well as a helmet. But then some civil rights clown might take offence at not being allowed to risk his skin and massive blood loss.

Hey motu don't sweat the open face lid bit -lid choice is a personal thing I can apreciate that. But after the big grind I did on the chin of my lid I can't suggest an open face.

Bullshit --baby bikie has full face lid that fits him,a leather jacket, gloves and boots.
No excuses for pillion having shit gear -thats the eqivilant of wearing a seatbelt and letting ya kid ride in the back without one.

Sounds like that guy needs to look at rotton.com to cure him of that -
he needs to see the photo under the caption "nothing gets between me and my bike" showing a guy (that had no helmet on) that came of his
bike face first on gravel who is still fully conscious.

Not for the faint hearted - if the picture is still on that site, it would be
good to print some off and give it to some of these people that insist
    on not wearing protective gear

I think most of those microcars should have compulsary lids and full harnesses-especiallyu the kstish ktish types.

    Arrow There is allways one.

One of my non KB mates who rides a scooter thought he'd be OK to ride with an unsecured load. The load moved so he grabbed it, then it moves again, so he grabs it with the other hand. At this point the load was secure, but, who is riding the bike? At 55km/h he rode straight off the open road and into a ditch. Bike got scratched, lost some skin and reduced his ego. Well I guess shit happens and now he utilises common sense and takes the cage when transporting unsecurable loads by bike.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

Must have down about 200 k back and forth across town yesterday, played spot the idiot with my passanger. Would have seen about 20 riders without propper gear including one guy wearing jandels with his t-shirt and shorts. Large number of them wearing t-shirts and no gloves. There is no reason not to wear gloves period.
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.
