Police enquiry (Aprilia RSV "mille" V60)

Police have located the following motorcycle which is believed to be stolen:

    Racing Aprilia RSV "mille" V60
Red, black and blue in coulour.
It has a manufacture date of 22/02/00 engraved on the chassis, however the chassis number has been filed off.
It appears to have been in an accident, during which the bike sustained panel damage on the left side.

I have attached a photograph below.

Do you have any information relating to a stolen bike matching the description/ photograph? No Aprilias have been reported as stolen to Police, however given that the chassis number has been filed and it has a rego plate that matches a different motorcycle, it is highly likely that it has been stolen.

Any information would be much appreciated.

    Hey Spank,

Would it be worth setting up a separate thread for Stolen Bikes (all types) as we seems to be having a spate of them recently. Would make it easier for people to keep an eye on the threads and grab info if needed.....

Perhaps the engine number could help. We keep records of the engine numbers of bikes we import, so it would be a simple matter of searching through the old stock list which would then tell us the original VIN number and who it was sold to. We have bought in 3 or 4 RSV's with that colour scheme but I don't remember one with those aftermarket footpegs but it's worth a look.
