A&R--Hey mate seeing has how some bloody scumbag stole your bikes if my boy goes on his road trip next weekend, when the guys are going to thunder, I'll have a bike free, would you like to have a go on his 200exc? If he stays its his, but if he goes the offer is there!!

HAHA!! new this thread would generate some good responses, Especially since I've had a couple of Bourbons!! Good stuff! I expected something from you Telli and Ktmboy but I must admit that was good. Gave me a laugh!!

Got mates! its just they where busy, as stated. I just was wondering about your opinions on this riding alone scenerio!!

Interesting! Prob mostly the same as me, if you cut the bullshit out!

Im fortunate to have a couple of mates, a dad and a brother who ride and several mates who ride quads (hahahahaha), my best mate rides every weekend like me but none the less, we are always keen to meet up with like minded people.

SO, Thundercross this weekend? Sat or Sun? Who should i look for?

    Just read your opening post.

You have answered your own question (IMHO) harden the fuck up!

Is it about you and your mates, or about you and your bike? Your choice! Easy one for me. Cheers John.

Yeah i'm the same. Used to go out to kimmy's midweek and ride after work by my lonesome HOWEVER I wouldn't do it anymore.

When I came off bigtime and fucked both knees and an ankle I was the last on the track with no one else riding at that point. I couldn't walk or even stand up at all. If my brother wasn't there to notice I hadn't come round the mx track for a while I could've been waiting for ages before I got picked up. Plus I couldn't drive either.

    Would never ride alone anymore

I dunno, I'd ride Thundercross ( haven't been there mind you ) or trail rides on my own. In the end though it's what you feel happy with, if you're going to ride slower cause you are on your own to keep safer & not enjoy it as much, seems to me a smart move.
Riding an MX track all on your own is kinda scarey though, even with people a km away .

yeh had similar at one of the Mr motorcycles rides. Decided to go for a last loop as my mates where taking off so I stayed on, they left. Passing a slower rider, going quite quick, I tripped over a rut and came off. No big deal just bent the bars but I injured my kidney a bit, rode the bike back to the truck, loaded up and tried to drove home. Had to stop in Pokeno for the pain and barely made it home.

But Hey this isn't supposed to be a big deal! I was just interested in your opinions and the whimp thing was a bit of humour at myself. Trouble with the written word there's no body or facial expression to go with it! Part of the reason not to go, was that as it was fathers day I should be with hanging with my teenagers, as a father, not out alone on my bike. Actually had the bike on the ute at 10am and took it back off!
But still an interesting discussion going on with valued experienced opinions like Scott's that should be heeded.
I will continue to go out the Sandpit, Ardmore and Harrisvilee on my own but think I'd still like a mate at Thunder and Kimi's. I'd hate to have to leave my bike and all the gear down there if I wasn't able to drive it back anyway!

And slimjim I don't think any MX or enduro rider is worried about HURTING themselves. Your comments don't really make sense to me? Frankly it comes with the territory, its sure to happen sooner or later! Its simply the nature of our game! The thread is about limiting the effects and risks thats all!

    depends where your going

having no friends I have often ridden alone, no issues at Bike parks etc,

I worked at woodhill for 5 years under the old mangment, I would always ride the park on the quad before I went home If I thought there was a lost rider..

have often ridden Kimmys and Thunder alone, no probs,

I would however not ride Maratotos by myself ..no way...

but it is you choice, sure helps to have a mate with you if you break down etc..

I guess its up to your own "risk assesment "

    good post, some good replies

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.

Each to his own....Personally, the idea of sitting out the back of a bike park/trail ride/friends farm etc with a broken femur hoping on the off chance someone remembers to come looking before you bleed to death just doesn't do it for me...

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
