About two months ago I ordered a new rear hugger to replace the monstrosity on my '08 ZX10R, and finally today after tons of frustration I cancelled the order.
Over the course of the last 8 or so weeks it has been misplaced, arrived in Hawaii, then boarded a flight to Australia and from there who knows?
The retailer (bless) phoned Mat Mladin Imports today, he couldn't get the local guy so was transferred to the Australian H.O. "Sorry I don't know where it is, can I phone you tomorrow?"
Eh no, please cancel my order.
Is it any wonder people are purchasing via overseas websites with this sort of shite performance? I could have had the thing within 10 days through Ebay.
I won't make this mistake again!

Fuk yeah. Kiwi bike shops are usually too busy doing "important" stuff like talking to travelling reps to be bothered dealing with inconvenient interruptions like customers and shit.

Sometimes you get a bad run. Cue our recent horn import deal - that was a real bummer for all concerned, not least for the poor bloke who organised it all. Very embarrassing I am sure, and seemingly no one persons fault.

But yeah there are companies world-wide that pride themselves on three day delivery anywhere on the globe. Nice.

I know someone who ordered a hugger through a shop, who helped him order it, and when it turned out to be for the wrong model of bike it was "tough luck" - policy was once somethign was ordered it's the customers issue.

With that sort of thing - why bother with the shops?

Hit the nail on the head there martyBeen buying oe for years and never once been let down.Thing is i would love to support local guys but in many (no not all) cases it just doesnt work,the gap is huge $ wise and in many cases so is the attitude,can remember a heated conversation with a wrecker here when i asked him to explain why the price of a TLR clutch landed on my doorstep was over 3 times dearer than one from Germany also landed on my doorstep.

IMHO is fucking disgusting how long you had to wait before you decided to cancel the order! Did you not order that part PRIOR to picking up your new bike? Honestly why do items need to be at least x3 times as expensive as buying from overseas and at least that in time before it arrives???? It really does not make sense!?!? Fairings are a good example of us being ripped off by local NZ 'official' suppliers....here's a good exercise, call Kawasaki NZ and ask for the price for an OEM fairing piece...any, it doesn't matter...then go to www.thepartsdepot.com and look at exactly the same OEM piece and see the difference in price INCLUDING FREIGHT?!?! Then see delivery time and compare that with the same fairing from Kawasaki NZ....IF LOCAL SUPPLIERS WANT MY MONEY THE NEED TO LIFT THEIR GAME!
