I've had the Husaberg 650 and a KTM 620 SMC both awsome reliable road legal tools. The Berg was more full on, powerful and fun to ride but a little high maintenance, the KTM is a good commuter tool through the week and a blast at the weekend type of bike.

Mention anything that doesn't look good in black (besides eyes...)

Still, I call it stealth grey - it's extremely easy to sneak up on people on my motard, and it fools radars too.

So far the theory holds up... But I tend to use ground cover as well - like low-flying planes and helicopters eh. Just think 4x4s, lorries and people movers instead of hills and vegetation.

Haven't had any enquiries from the fuzz yet - although my poor behaviour is consistent and pretty much every day. Gotta do what we can to stay awake during that morning commute!

    Hi Choppa
How come You are selling Your 640?
I have decided, after HOURS of reading reviews etc, scouring the Net for info about speed, reliability, FUN etc that the KTM 690SMC is the Bike for Me,
Am I right in thinking its really just a newer version of Your 640?
Thats wy I was wondering why You are selling it.
What do Others tink of the KTM 690 SMC, NOT the 690 Supermoto, they seem a bit bloated for a Supermoto,
    Thanks

My bikes all belong to speedtech and they have put me on a new zx10 now so basically its only getting sold to keep funding other projects unfortunatly because as a road bike nothing is better in terms of being easy to ride, fun, dont have to be going everywhere a 100mph to enjoy it. THe 690 is the bike thats taken its place i havnt ridden one but like all road going motards they are big bikes and not the sort of thing you will go around a mx track on like a proper supermoto bike but i was talking to greg from boyds about it and he has one for the road and loves it! I think they look the business but the price tag seems high for the bike...

The 690 series has a balance shaft and makes for a smoother ride. It also has a six-speed box and 'anti-hop' clutch as standard... They are good for about 185kph, or thereabouts...

I'm not sure what the 640 above weighs but the SMC is 139-ish. The SM is about 154.
Most of the guys that have the SMC's are pretty happy with them, barring a few niggles here and there...

As said above, it's more a street motard as opposed to a race one but some guys have raced them and had heaps of fun. The SMC is still more motard than the SM though...

If I had the money, I'd be riding the SMC but mine's pretty good at the moment for what I need...
