Sometimes folks expect me not to give way to them just because I'm driving a taxi. Well, what to do? Sit there for another 15 seconds waiting for them to move or blow on through and let everyone get on with it?? Technically I have "given way". They didn't take it (way) and I proceeded with caution.
Who's never done the same in their own cage???
As far as "unconventional parking" goes I only do that when I'm picking up and setting down (as the law allows BTW)
Of course I have have witnessed some shocking examples of driving behaviour from local taxi drivers but in my limited experience all the major prangs that have occurred have been the other party's fault.

Dead on Spud. Its just one of those bad things that one Taxi driver gets a bad rep and they all get labeled as arsehole drivers.

Just like the argument (Debate??) we had on Police image. Some cops are arseholes (Like the one in Picton who has puleed me up 5 days running now and asks me the exact same questions including why am I going home???

) But there are the bloody brilliant ones like the one who let me off my 136kph ticket this morning

I suspect one reason why so many women seem to be driving 4x4s is because they is a two car family and hubby is commuting in the little car leaving wifey the 4x4 to do the school run etc.....

Just a thought.

Heaps of idiot drivers in welly, been cut off, nearly pushed into on comming traffic in Terrece tunnel and my bike bike is loud grrr people dont check before they move. Couple of times ive had to go up to their drivers window and knock on it and give the fingers.

I was in Wgtn this morning and was on the motorway heading into town about 0850 hrs. I couldn't believe some of the driving I saw. What does indicate mean?

Well, when I'm in the car I always pull over even if in line of traffic and let bikes in. Some guy on a CBR900 even gave me a thumbs up as he cruised by, maybe he spotted the HRC sticker on the Civic? So if youre in your car, do you try and signal that you ride bikes too? Or if youre on a bike, can you spot a bike owning car driver? Or just cruise by, thinking "he he he, suckers," in your best Bart voice
