Has anyone been up the Takas today? 24th Jan.

I finish work in 27 minutes and I thought I may go for a ride to the summit after I pick up my front guard from Blakamin.

Is it windy and rainy over there or ok?

    Cheers CSL.

Sigh. I'd love to go for a ride, but I wrenched my left knee a bit during yesterday's close encounter with the Hutt Motorway... Jeez I hate stairs. Stairs and Jaguars. Stairs, Jaguars and cellphones. And people in hats. Especially blue ones.

I'll bet that your dad or some previous owner has put an American V8 in that XJS. What a POS they were in standard form. Particularly the NZ assembled ones. Particularly the NZ assembled ones with vinyl roofs. Now there's a "fashion statement"...

this one was nice as man i beat a couple of guys on R1s when they tried to drag me on the freeway, they probably would have beat me if there was turning but im not a good enough driver for that, least not in a car lol

Yep. Came back from the Wairarapa on the new wheels today (yes they are mine now), and it was refreshingly chilly at the summit, especially after the humid weather in the Wairarapa today. Looped back past the diversion at the south end of Lake Wairarapa for a bit of fun.

The summit is in cloud and it's a little damp at the top.

Good to see you back on a bike Jim. Does it handle like a yellow banana on wheels would? or is that not a recent picture of the bike.

    heehee.

No it's definitely better than a banana on wheels. Though being a yellow Suzuki, I figured banana would be a familar adjective. At least it doesn't have purple bruises .

Not sure what year the R1's were, but there aint NO car (within reason of course) that is beating ME on the straights... I may not be fast in the corners yet, but guarantee me that there are no cops, and you're not passing me. I just don't see how it's possible.
