    A brush with the LEOs

Stopped the bike on the side of the road to talk to a friend yesterday......then noticed a LEO pull up behind me.... (what have I done what have I done??????)...he duly mosied over to me and asked for Licence and WOF......so I put down the stand, took off the gloves, removed the helmet, retrieved the wallet from the jacket pocket and produced the licence. In the meantime I had told him the WOF was in the little plastic sleeve thingy that was attached behind the number plate......he could only see the Rego, not the WOF. So I had to get off the bike to pull the sleeve away from the plate so that he could see the WOF in the other side of the sleeve....he was happy with that and happy with the licence. He commented "Good to see you have your class 6." I replied "Well of course I have it - I'm riding a motorbike!" To which his reply was "Lots of people don't bother these days...." This was a bit of a surprise to me - I thought everyone was like me and duly followed correct procedure re licences......apparently not! Then the real reason for stopping me came out - "I have the 1000cc version of your bike" he said...and we ended up talking bikes.....all in all he seemed like quite a pleasant fellow despite being constantly exposed to all the evils of our modern society.....but I did breathe a sigh of relief as I puttered sedately away afterwards......

Go on...you had to swallow, didn't you?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

It's all fun and games till you get done for not indicating for 3 seconds before changing lanes.

    Is this for real?

If you've been for your motorcycle license, you should know what class 6 is. A New Zealand drivers license can have various numbered classes - in combination (1 = car, 2 = medium rigid, 3 = medium semi, 4 = heavy rigid, 5 = heavy semi, 6 = motorcycle), as well as endorsements, see the top section of:
    http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/licensing/

And yes, you do need to have your license with you at ALL times while driving (/riding if it's a bike that requires a license) on public roads. See:

And whats with the 5 heavy semi bit ? ya do mean mean trailer aye ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
