suspension may need looking at as well. i had a stock seat on my 86 sportster which was sufficent. never managed to make it on many long distance rides tho coz it always broke down. the stock softail custom seat was luxury compared to the spotsters when i upgraded

As far as I'm aware, Mac at Rider Seats can sort lowering of the bike if that's an issue. I'm not sure about fitting after market shocks and springs ?

A friend of mine used to wear bike pants (as in cycling without a motor). She said they make motorcycle seats more comfy.

I may be a bit late hear but I have imported my seats from the States and they are bloody good the companies are Mustang and Ultimate. Mustang are in the States and Ultimate are in Canada. Drop me a note if you want their details. My preference is the Ultimate
