    Bondage!

Or chains, in particular. I thought I'd ask the locals before I went further afield. I'm looking for a reasonably good-looking security chain for my bike, particularly for when I take it to work so I can chain it to the rather large steel fire escape behind my office (which is concreted into the ground).

Now, I know it's never going to stop the determined, it's just about providing a deterrent for those that might think once (and stop them thinking twice). So I'm looking for something that looks like a big fuck-off security chain, without necessarily costing like a big fuck-off security chain (as they seem to start at $300-$400). If anyone has any bright ideas I'm all ears. I popped into Mitre 10 mega the other day, but everything they have looked puny and insignificant.

Oh, and I already have the big fuck-off security padlock to go on the end of it.

I've got a 1.5 metre length of plastic sheathed 10mm wire rope with eyelets at either end you can have if interested.

you can get a lock thing that locks onto your front brake and locks it on. Really small and simple and the only way to move the bike is to pick it up and if anyone wants to pick up your bike then someone will probably notice cause they are not going to fit it in there back pocket and walk off.

....so just what are you attaching with the chain or rope to the bike that you don't want to go missing?

    Yeah, take no chances Horse!

Now that you have one, you'll start hearing the horror stories of Harley's going missing.

Yeah, a disc lock. Got a cheap one already, and use it, will probably invest in one of the loud screamy types when I've got some spare funds. But apparently the trick is to put front wheel on skateboard, roll bike (and skateboard) up ramp into back of waiting van. Front wheel never has to turn.

this is what I was on about before.

If you were very keen I surpose you could still put the front wheel on a skateboard.

    Heres a pic anyhow.

I should note that this is actually meanies pic that he took somewhere. It was in a group of photos he gave me of the coast to coast 07.

they seem quite good cause I have heard several nightmares about peeps trying to ride off with disclocks on. You couldnt forget to take that off. (one would think)
