Yeah - they always do don't they...had one t'other night try it on against my SVS.............I didn't even have to crack 7000rpm to leave him eating dust.....and then slowed down to exactly 50km/hr whilst he chafed behind....

    I wouldn't.
I was referring to when the lights go green and the rider takes off at a normal pace, not a pro racing driver gunning the engine and accelerating to the limits of the machinery. With a CVT transmission the rider just needs to give it some gas and leave it to the computer to keep the ratios right. It is very easy to accelerate smoothly but quickly on those super scoots. There have been many bikes sitting beside a Burgman 650 at the lights that have been caught out with the scooter gone before they have even clicked it into gear.

Man that is so untrue - you just ask that guy who gave me a blow-job - he'll tell you I'm not gay.

The 'problem' is - like the DN-01 - you can't redline and dump it. But that isn't what the vehicle is about anyways.

Redline & dump the clutch? Is that a normal style for tourers & cruisers at traffic lights?
I thought riders that did that sort of thing would be on sports bikes! As I originally said, ain't no way a Burgy is gonna beat a sports bike. Some sports bikes have a top speed in 1st around the same speed as the top speed on a Burgman 650! The Burgy is a fast scooter that can beat plenty of slow bikes, even some with bigger engines, but it won't beat a fast bike.

I certainly wouldn't upgrade to an AN650 hoping to beat people in races, if that was my aim I would go with something with at least one R in it's name! I'm straight but would be happy to ride a CBR1000RR if I wanted to be on a sports bike, so I doubt you need to be gay to ride a Honda. I have also seen a husband (straight AFAIK, I didn't actually ask) and wife on a Goldwing - you know the GW, kinda like a van - but with only 2 wheels.

My mate had a CX500 - he loved that bike and he is straight (why else would he spend all that money on hookers?).

Bastard now I'll need to shell out $10.

    Unless

I read it in installments in the Supermarket .....

Out of interest did you do a big tour on it - I've always looked at the full touring ones as being irrelevant for NZ due to the amount of tight and narrow roads we have. Brilliant in the USA with all that wide open space. You'd be semi fucked taking one to Akaroa.

I can remember the first 'wing' it was a stripped down naked - described as sporty in the reviews. I would be a good magazine photo to have the first and current side by side.

Some of the finest motorcycles made. Everyone I've had has been of the utmost quality. I'm lusting after the new cbr1000 at the moment.
