Jeez! Now I'm an unco-ordinated geriatric, just not short sighted since my cataracts were done.
Never mind though, I bet my wife is younger than jrandom.

I've been trying to figure out what that was for ages! I twigged it was some sort of engine from your earlier comment in this thread, but could only see an old, brown leather work boot & didn't "get it".
It's a snail, not a boot, which makes sooooo much more sense.![]()

They're great value for money, redstar. Not the fastest or best handling bike, but they do everything pretty well. Mine was a little tatty, but it's the '97 update model with Givi rack and bags for $7600.

I just drove the Napier-Taupo road twice last week and there had been a lot of slips (already cleaned up) but all were signposted with Orange exclamation points. By the time he got to Te Pohue, he should have realised what all those signs meant & slowed down a bit.
Mind you, I'm probably being a bit harsh - you'd have to be going pretty slow in wet conditions to stop in time to avoid a tree across the road!
He's a lucky barsteward, at any rate.
A few years ago, a fire service employee driving along one of the roads in the Whanganui river area was killed when the road collapsed underneath the vehicle. No way to avoid that one.
Sobering thought but after that you would be in the mood to buy lotto wouldn't you. One maybe a coincidence two raise your eyes to the heavens but six definitly time for a lucky dip.![]()
