eek NO RESPECT for wee bike riders

I am currently practising my license test passing skills on a cute wee vtr250...thanks again to RantyDave for the loaner.

Anyway being back on a wee bike has reminded me about how much I love and take for granted the power of my big(ish) bike.

This has given me a different take on what it is like to be on a wee bike than what I had before I rode big bikes.

The big thing is that YOU GET NO RESPECT. Three examples of this just on my way home tonight...

Firstly - TO all my fellow big bike riders out there...just because your bike is bigger that doesn't mean you are always A; a better rider OR B;faster - than those on little bikes.

Sitting at lights today old man (ok that's just what I'm calling him cos he annoyed me) on big arse bike filters to the front and puts himself out in front of me while looking down at me like prrrft. OK then I thought - whatever you got the meat to beat me grandpa. SO off we go...him riding like if he broke 40 it would kill him...me in behind getting bored just about falling asleep. SO as we approached the twisty way home, and I had determined he intended on going the same way , I thought bugger this and decided to pass him...didn't see him in my mirrors again

Secondly - when on a small bike you have way more car drivers seeming to 'not see you' and trying to push you off the road! You know what I mean...assuming that beacause you are so small that you must surely NOT need the whole lane to yourself, so they come right up beside you MOFOS! Then when you ride in the middle of the lane to keep them behind you get people coming across on you from the inside lanes as if you aren't even there.

Thirdly - normally when I pass young kids on the side of the road they do the all hail greeting and look with great appreciation and admiration at my bike as I pass by. Today a little punk ran out AT me - had something in his hand and tried to throw it at me..I managed to squeeze a little more juice out of the bike (sorry rev limiter) and used my obstacle avoidance technique to get round him just before flipping the little shit the bird! Pity I didn't kick him as I went past...oh well at least I didn't bin I guess

SO I am very very very much looking forward to passing my full license on Friday so I can get back on my BIG GIRL bike and enjoy that growly sound and lovely torquey bally grunt that I love so much....I do miss my mojo!

AND to all the wee bike riders out there I promise to not be a wanker like the dude on the big whale bike and the losers in cars....You have a right to be on the road and I know for a fact that MANY of you will be faster than me too.

Keep cool people and ride safe

You're obviously doing something wrong, I never had those problems on my 250's. Do you look funny or something?

It's different if you're a girl. How many straight guys have a gay friend that takes them shopping? Not many, if any.

Oh, you do say the sweetest promises...

Honda Schmnonda...fact is, they are some of the most reliable machines there is out there. But I have noticed an increase in the wankerriders acting ups over the last couple of days: Full moon perhaps?

Many more than you probably think...they just don't talk about it.

Nope just gives me the right to sit my full test once before I am technically eligible to. If I don't pass then the 6months to wait gets reset - should be sweet though.

Never had any trouble on the RGV... and you think that'd be worse given that it ring a ding dings and blows smoke

Seriously though, I ride it like a big bike as far as lane ownership goes, and I eyeball (well as much as a dark visor lets you) any beyatch that looks like they're going to give trouble.

Hmmm - ya do get a hint of that.

I seem to have more 'incidents' relating to other traffic on the days when I'm on our VTR250.

Then, my previous Firestorm and current (yellow) VFR800 are LOUDER

    Talking

LOL...yeah I get the same thing when commuting to work on my wee Yamaha Jog
Hell it has been an eye opening experience as to what it's really like riding on a wee thang.
I get some condescending looks from other bikers and cars just think it's fine to drive into my lane despite the fact that I ride in the middle of it.
Oh well...several car drivers have had some treatment and doubt they would do it again and I just crack up at the idiot wanker riders attempting to look down on me...if only they knew what was in my garage
