Do you acknowledge/wave at other bike riders?

Having been born and raised on the freeways of Lost Angeles it was a fairly common custom to waive or at least nod at other bike riders. This was especially true when out on roads less traveled.

Having been here in NZ for years, I still do this, but almost nobody does it back, though a few will. I always figured their is a certain kinship amongst riders, as we are all on two wheels, sharing the same fun, and risks.

So, do you acknowledge other bike riders?

As long as it doesnt look remotely Harleyish i generally give a wave, years (and years) ago used to give everybody on a bike a wave as for many of us it was the done thing but then along came 55 year old divorcees on Harleys and it seems the usual pleasantries were forgotton, mind you i dont blame em,got an image to maintain.

I didn't want to mention that the Hardley Ableson riders never, ever waved, but I figured it was because they were too afraid to take their hands off the tassled bars. Never thought about it being their image; vest wearing and wearing all that matching HD outfit crap. But then 0-100 in three minutes ain't bad for farm machinery technology!

yep pretty much wave or nod to everyone on two wheels, except when not able to due to concentrating on cornering

Negatory my good man, I had an HD rider wave at me FIRST a few months back. I was so blown away I almost started a thread about it, wrote to the queen, tattooed the date on my ass & made a paper mache boat in remembrance

I do wave at them, but they generally don't wave back... But, I will stop for them if they are broken down on the side of the road. Just being a nice guy
