There's nothing like riding/driving with a decent radar detector to alert you of just how many muftis there are lurking in the traffic! I'm often surprised by the unmistakeable alert from the Bel65 on the open road that has to have been caused by the least expected of vehicles

Yup the only cop who has pulled me over 'with reason' was in an unmarked fairmont! Sneaky buggers eh. But nah I've always been suspicious of fairly new Holdens/Fords, just didn't spot this one cause it was up in a car park when I went past (it did mean he didn't catch me going as fast as I was though.. apparently he had to catch up before locking my speed )

But yeah there's some unmarked Maximas (I don't think they're all that new either, mid-90s) around Auckland, and Hyundais further north, I would not suspect a Hyundai.. Also a few marked Holden Astras, lol.. You have to think 'what did that cop do to his boss to deserve this!'.

You should also look out for any new Mazda 6 or ummm - what's the similar sized Nissan? Anyway - lots of Commodores about, but don't dismiss any late model car as not a mufti just because it isn't a Commodore.

I travel the stretch of No1 Highway from Bombay south every day, and the range of cars the Highway Patrol guys use include a late model Commode SV6 in plain white, a late model Honda Accord V6 in silver, and a late model Camry with a body kit in metallic gold. There's also a Hyundai Sonata V6 in silver that surfaces occasionally.

The Camry and the Accord do VERY good business......

Emergency paramedics from Wgtn free Ambulance also have similar lights and are XR6 Falcons. Some of them are leased and wont show an owner on a site like MotorWeb.
They also have a shit load of accessories fitted and some sits on the dash . Hard to tell when coming up to it if its a cop or not.

Always remember that gay bastards and cops drive Commadore's and real blokes drive a Falcon. (but i drive a Camry )

    Bring on Bathurst..........
