Ze Coming of Age

Ladies, Gents, and other Creatures,

I have begun the hunt for a new motorcycle for my lovely yellow badge. It seems the GN250 will come up and I might consider it but it's resell value plus looks just don't amuse at the moment. I have been considering all styles of bikes and the cruiser category seems to be well-suited for my start. I had a look at a '94 yamaha xv250 and took it into wellington motorcycles and they said I should stay away, very far away. I took their advice as I have previously only been on four wheels and still inexperienced. I will take a look at this one on Sunday http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-179506358.htm and would like thoughts on it. If any one has any learner bikes for sale, I'm happy to see if we can come to mutual agreement.

I wanted a brand new shiny one like that but the wife talked me out of it. I hate to say it but she was right, after four months I'd like something larger than a 250 (still have a bit of a wait there) and I'm glad I didn't spend too much on a learner bike.

Saw a very nice 1800cc somethingortheother today, I'll work my way up.

Dont spend too much dosh on a learner bike, they get a thrashing (intentional sometimes...) and save the money for a step up bike...
