I thought I sat with a fairly straight back (except for when I'm being silly and crouching over the tank) but the only image I've got of me riding looks like I'm hunching over a fair bit.

(captured from the waikato rally video)

I think it's largely due to the type of bike and its size relative to the rider...

You're a fair bit taller than me.

I just sort of plop myself down and sit upright with a straightish back. About the same as when I sit on a chair. It's comfy, I can sit on the Zeal all day and not notice it.

And when I want to pretend like I'm going fast, I can put the balls of my feet up on the pegs and lean toward the steering head. Helps with pushing the front through corners, too.

I want my next bike to feel the same.

Like to ride with my head higher than my arse! Usually find that when my head gets lower than my butt that I have a tendency to be kissing it goodbye.

Given that an FZR750R has a wheelbase about the same as an old Kingswood, and the clipons are below the top tripleclamp, there's not too much choice...

I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs, arse at the back of the front part of the seat, arms nearly outstretched - maybe a 15° bend.

I used to get sore wrists and butt, but I guess I've got used to it.

I do however, have a near pathological aversion to getting both buttocks off the seat in the corners, so it would be very unlikely to see me hanging off like a monkey on the takas...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I tend to ride sitting on the tank.

I find the air vents in my boots are orientated at a sub optimum angle cf the air flow when placed upon the pegs, where by sitting on the tank allows me to dangle my feet in the breeze, and experience the podiatric pleasures of my shiny new Sidi© Vertigo© boots.

i ride balls of feet on pegs, sitting right close to the tank, and with a fairly slouched back i think. Had to sit like that on the CBR to fit inside the fairings else my knees wouldn't tuck in and have kept sitting like that since.

what a good thread. its often challenged me what riding position to adopt I have noticed that if I crouch the wind resistance is eliminated but I don't feel in control of the controls. I am thinking of a modified blade to get the wind deflection right with a prefered position. semi prone.
Your never to old for a sportsbike
