    Not a shit show!
We have one thread...talk about all sorts in there. We don't need/want separate threads. We "moderate" ourselves...and we behave!
Would be a brave mod who would dare to moderate us...although they are welcome to pop in, shoot the breeze, have a cuppa or a cold one with us and many of them do!
Some of them even join us for a ride occasionally!

Another conspiracy theory? If you want to complain about me or any other Moderator in terms of our behaviours as Moderators, then take that up with Messrs Me and Trousers (those red dudes).

Otherwise, let it go. It will only make you bitter and twisted.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

When it starts affecting folks lives outside KB something isn't quite right. Chancey and Nasty will know what I'm talking about.

There is another forum that is very much like yours - the Auckland Uni Club.

As a Club Forum (as opposed to a Group Forum), there are minor differences in the way it is run, but it is essentially the same. They even have they own in-house moderator (Squiggles) - just like you guys. Go and check it out.

It is their own space on the site, and it is well utilised. Sure, they talk shit in there sometimes - just like all of us. But generally, they just get on with it. The Moderators have very little to do in there, which suits us just fine.

They organise rides, talk about their bikes, arrange social gatherings, bitch about parking problems at the Uni, etc etc. All good stuff. For a bunch of Uni students, they are fucking great.

What don't they do? Well, they don't run around like headless chickens, trying to decide "what the forum is for". They don't post dozens of unbelievably childish "I can post more crap than you can" type threads, in the mistaken belief that it somehow funny or clever - or indeed permitted under the site rules. They don't indulge in petty little power struggles, and divide themselves into pro and anti factions - "If you're not with us, you must be against us..." They don't ostracise some locals, in the mistaken belief that they are somehow behind all the local problems.

Despite the teething problems, there's some good stuff starting to happen in this forum. I hope it continues.

It can't be too hard to communicate and share local knowledge in a semi civilised way. I endorse the 'childish' comment. I look forward to seeing the Manawatu forum evolve in a positive direction.

p.s. I want an electric sportsbike.

there's nothing theoretical about it, but taking it further is, quite frankly, a waste of my time

    Now your just being silly.

Electric and sportsbike can't be used in the same sentence, with the exception of "Danica and her beloved Sportsbike BladeBreaker were seen to be carving up Balance Road when their moment of intimacy was abruptly brought to a premature halt as they chanced upon the flaming wreakage of what appeared to be a Toyota Prius full of Green Party delegates whos electric power cell had spontaneously combusted - as God intended. By the light of the pyre she looked upon her world and saw that it was good, and indeed it was"

"Thumbing the mighty Breaker into life and secretly revelling in the tremor that ran through her body as the bike gently vibrated between her legs with a promise of power to great to tame, Danica was about to once more pay homage to the gods of the blacktop when she noticed Yod approach the dying embers of the earlier conflagration and proceed to poke and prod them with a sharp stick..."

In our lifetimes we will see electric sportsbikes that make every existing production motorcycle look like a wind-up toy.

No, she needed to save the poor wretch from further harm - that was - until she spied what could only be described as the thing that he had ridden in on. Pity and disgust, both, warred for dominance within her breast as she looked upon its dated, unexciting and sedate lines. Had it not been for her keen senses she may have missed it altogether as it blended into the monotony of its surroundings..."
