Yep, a great tool. I backed out of a purchase because I discovered the speedo had been around the clock three times and it had had three different rego plates on it, and the plates in the photo belonged to a different bike.

Uh, the jam is lame though. Don't like. Sorry.

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

We were getting an element of confusion with a US only based website of the same name. We also wanted something a bit more interesting and something which would match our broader long term plans for lots of different features and the ability for users to "jam" about cars.

`Roadmap' used in the sense of software or website or hardware or other geek development sort of stuff is sort of a future plan for features in upcoming releases. For example, Intel has a roadmap detailing all the fancy new Pentiums they're going to release over the next couple of years, and what stage of development they're in.

So no, he's not talking about an actual map of where the cars are.

By the way, you can get that information for about a dollar at a post office anyway. So we're not talking a particularly high bar of entry as it is.

I know, that's why I hate these sort of services. What legitimate purpose does that serve? Atleast the 'roadmap' is just a label for the development plan.

Aaah - good point and one we will add to the FAQ which explains it (accessible from the homepage at http://carjam.co.nz )

Two of my vehicles (both German, but that has nothing to do with it) show a 100,000km reduction in odo reading at the second entry....obviously first recorded with the 10th km digit. One is a 1987 vehicle - did they even have computers in 1987?

So a lot of this data comes from paper entries transcribed to computer.
