I rode the 05 ZXR 636 last night

I hadnt planned to but it was offered to me by Heath at hamilton Motorcycles so I though Oath whay not.
I wasnt kitted up in all my gear Denuim jeans and jacket so it was a lame ride around some local roads for half an hour.

This isnt a bike review but here is what I thought.

the Bike is definanetly an improvement on my 04 model the areas I noticed a difference were

1/ the bike steers alot quicker, the balance seems different , it has a lighter feel to the bike, it threw my a bit on the first roundabout but after ten minutes it was okay, I was used to it. the steering seems very light in comparision, I would imagine a damper would be a must.
Cornering was smooth and the bike was very well planted holding its line extremely well. My bike also does this but the 05 is better again.

2/ The speedo/ Tacho/ Rev Controls might as well not be there, the top of the blade cuts your vision to them completely, you have to duck your head down to read the speedo, I found this bloody annoying and wondered why they did this in the first place, I am 6ft which would not help, if you were 5.6 you might be okay, I would have to have a double bubble to sought this out.

3/ The power is certainly up, another 11 hp on mine, the acceleration is awesome all the 136 hp launch this bike into oblivion at a very quick rate, I was very impressed. It would certainly be quicker than mine, and mine aint no slouch at 0-100 in 3.2 sec.

Would I buy one, well no I dont think so on the basis that mine is still almost as good, I would be tempted with the new colour schemes like Titanuim and black, looks awesome.

I would have liked to of had the bike longer to get to know it better, Half an hour was not very long to test ride, I will get it again for another crack later on.
I would like to take the zx10 out now as a comparision to the 636, that would be interesting.

    Later
Ive run out of fucks to give

    what year is your 636?
As I bought mine, literally just handed the money over, the guy then said 'Oh, I have pics of the 05 bike, wanna see it..??' hmm.. the keys fresh in my hand, and he's showing me the next bike.. I actually prefer mine over the 05 at the moment, but saying that, I haven't been on an 05 yet. I intend to, to see the diff myself, but I'm over-impressed with my bike still, so I'm in no rush at all..

You coming up for the noob ride on sunday?

Common Jimmy, you will still be the better rider on it. Anyway, who's the one who can pull off fancy one wheeled manuvours on her?

That's a very nice looking bike, the price seems really reasonable too. Too bad I'm broke

Well, im hoping to get my full in March (if everything goes according to plan, which it probably wont) and im very keen to have a go..... Yeah 750Y, it would be a mint race bike, but it would only be eligible for F1 Although, with the power of a 750 and the handling of a 600......
