There`s a group of us who are on the wrong side of 40 that still skate ramps, bowls, and when available, pools.

There's no wrong side of 40. Youth is an interpretation. It's the bloody reflexes, eyesight and hearing that really get annoying.

And the fact that your hair starts growing really fast.
The down side of that is that it grows out your ears, nose and eyebrows, It vacates the top of your head exposing the solar panel for the sex machine that then goes into hyper drive. No female wants to know you cos you are bald with hair forests above your eyes, in the middle of your ears and under your nostrils. And then you get fat...
Atheism and Religion are but two sides of the same coin.
One prefers to use its head, while the other relies on tales.

Damn. So my problem must be I've got too much hair covering my solar panel. Thanks for the free sex tip.

But he's been through a (temporarily) life-changing experience!

So tell me, jrandom, when you're actually allowed to ride your motorcycle again, are you still going to be raving at us all about how health-giving and enjoyable it is to ride the pushbike? Or are you going to turn into just another couch potato who needs a 1400 cc motor to haul his fat arse around?

I think the answer to that is obvious! But it's more recliner than couch.

Yeah I do exercises for riding

Mainly I exercise for riding my off road bikes but it works well for the road bike too.
Bench presses are good, they strenghten your wrists and shoulders.
Cycling hard is real good for toning up your bum muscles, makes it so much easier to sit on a bike with an arse that has a bit of muscle on it, and good for your thighs too.
I find if I get sore around the shoulders I pull back on the handle bars for a while seems to stretch my neck back muscles.
I guess any exercise is good, the older your get the more you need to do.

    I run for general fitness - about 15 - 30kms per week.
3 gym sessions per week with bicep and tricep work for handle bar stability and control.
Most importantly, ab and lower back strengthening for good posture, especially during harder acceleration and braking. Also using your back takes any strain off your wrists (not that I have that problem with the upright VTR seating position, but for my next bike I might).
