Well my turn for an update. Warr's been looking better and they let him home today. Some of the family got time to have birthday cake in hospital before he left. Then once home, got to have more cake.

Arr I finally found this thread!!

Many thanks to those who looked after me following my accident and especially to the Matarangi First Response Ambulance crew who helped sort things out on the road-side.

My thanks too to Carver who was the first on the scene and for helping notify those back at home and keeping everything together post crash.

The Auckland Air Ambulance crew for getting me to Waikato Hospital. The list of good people who use their skill and expertise in ways to mend broken bodies is long, but a big thankyou from me.

All the reasons why and what-ifs, sorry I can shed no further details. I have no recollection of anything to do with the crash. My rear tyre was not new and was to be changed for my next warrent.
But it would appear to have failed resulting in a massive high side.

My Quasi gear did everything it was supposed to do, including the back protector which I'm sure minimized spinal and abdomen damage. Sadly its all a little second hand now, but money well spent.

My injuries ... makes for impressive reading in my hospital discharge report..
Left ribs front 8, left ribs back 4.
Shoulder, actual joint is intact but 3 bones around it are broken.
Left hand must have got crushed, it has a diagonal fracture line running from my little figure knuckle back to the wrist.
Right hand, wrist broken and dislocated.

Pain hasnt been too bad, just each day better than the previous.

Instead of burying my bike in a landfill I put it on TM for anyone with a VFR 750F that could use some parts. So far bidding is hot!! and I may even get $2 for it !!

Been a while since this thread had anything written in it, but today I returned to my accident site.
Wish now I had gone there sooner ... as in made a special trip as soon as I was able.
Emotions were heightened as I remembered the last few corners before my Sep 08 accident.
Not too much left, tho I did pick up a couple of souvenirs

Glad to hear that the healing process is well underway Warr!
It is a difficult decision, returning to a location with significant importance to someone.

Jeeze Warr.. I know you've got the man-upstairs on your side but this conincidence is ridiculous. Was just thinkin bout you today and wondering what you were up to, and on Friday night I bumped into Sidewinder (yeah, I tried to avoid him ) at the petrol bowser and we were talkin bout you there too. Sounds like a sensible move facing demons and all that

Must catch up bro. (you still watchin MotoGP out at Whatawhata?)
