    Sunday ride to Erewhon

Joined Homer for a quick blat to Erewhon this morning. Fantastic high country scenery & the gravel was sweet. Only 180km round trip from Ashvagas, so we should ride it more often. Mt Somers store is still open 7 days for fuel & coffee.
Pics are from near Mt Potts. The rocky hill in the forground of the first pic is where they built the castle for the Lord of the Rings movies. Surprisingly people still pay to go & look at that hill, for what was essentially a contrived fairy tale??
2nd pic is looking accross the Rangitata River towards the top of Mesopatamia Station. There's a track to huts up there that would make a great adv ride.........
