CB almost lost the clutch today

Well CB and I gassed up the H-Ds and headed down the Catlins Coastal Route, waay too good a day NOT to.

Lovely road, bugger all traffic seen (about a total of 12 counting bikes for 150km jaunt) but the odd loose gravel on some corners (and there's plenty of THEM) and THEN a nice cuppa at the Whistling Frog while admiring their tadpole fleet.

A few minutes after we arrived Delphinius and his loverly doris arrived on his Yella-Peril TT Truimph - had me wondering how fast he had been going when I heard all the down-changing and throttle blipping, the bike sounds good!

ANYHOO after our natter and drink CB and I headed on the return trip, great ride and not one vehicle was travelling in our direction until just entering Riviera of the South, cruised into town to the first stop sign and CB seems to be arsing about witht the left end of her handle-bars, next junction she pulls over and points at her clutch lever pointing at the road!!

Got home and found the grip mounting bolts were loose - was it the infamous Harley vibes or was it 'somebody' had forgotten to tighten them when fitting the heated grips?? (The bike HAD done about 300km since that event)..

Whatever, some Loc-tite and a bit of grunt and all's well.

You know, 90% of all Harley-Davidsons are still on the road...

the other 10% made it home intact.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
