Still wanna race your 450 Motard in F3? Check this out

These things look sick, bit pricey tho

Would be great fun, and since you arent allowed to race motards in F3 then this would be the way to go.

For the Super Single, $15,000US is $21,399NZ. Thats not bad for a modern alternative for the F3 class.

At the moment it just looks like a standard kxf450, all the other parts will have to be custom fitted....

nice bikes and a lot of fun but it's not a motard any more.

on a tight circuit or a street circuit it'd suffer much the same as other road bikes.

lots of guys built singles in TZ or RG frames but not many did very well. KTM is probably gonna release a 690 RC4 next year and that will use the same motor as mine but it won't be as useful on the roads I like; extra tight roads in NZ with every surface known to man.

i think one of the most succesful was Bill Birch many years ago on a KTM LC4 powered bike he built while working for Ginger Molloy. Bill rode it well and won his class in BEARs.

The new KTM version is supposed to have over 70HP and weigh 125kg for a top end of about 240kph fully faired. It'd probably eat superbikes on many of NZ's roads and looks like a hoot but it aint for me; give me wide bars and long travel suspension any day.
