He's been giving me a couple of pointers. (i need them!!)
Yeah theres only one person that would do that on an MV.
I wont say who he is, but i do know him.

Not what you mean, but pretty funny.

and i still gave it my bike of the year.

They had the 05 ZX10 at KR the week before the MV, and I had a fair blat on both of them and a new CBX1100 the week before that.

At almost double the price it isn't twice the bike, but depending on how much you value the 'horn' factor - it could be close.

Now all I need is for one of you lot to test ride, and crash one. Just fairing damage please, I'm not too fussed with cosmetics.
And then there will be one in my price range

Don't tell anyone, but I'm trying to talk Hamish into taking it for a test ride today. He mentioned in passing last night at the KB evening that he might think about taking it for a test ride but that he "couldn't justify spending $40,000 on a bike". I said "why not??"

So we'll see. From all accounts from those who've owned/ridden it, it's a beautiful bike to ride with amazing power.

The 750 is brilliant to play on, would like to try the 1000....

Might get one when we get to your fine land.... not much point in having the best biking roads without the best bike to go with them
    Because I can......................

I rode the MV1000 last week. I agree with SB, what farken weapon. The thing that impressed me was that it just keeps making power. You don't think you're going that fast because the bike does it so easily (I suppose all the big thou's are like that).

Having done 36,000k's on the 750 F4 I can honestly say they are worlds apart in performance.

I'd like one but as a 2nd bike only. Too fast for me to think about commuting or touring on. I worked out that I'd lose my license (again!) before the 1000k service.

Hamish test rode it Saturday morning. Said it was lovely to ride, heaps of power, really nice but too expensive.

I have plans to change his mind.....

Matthewt - I might get him to talk with you so you can tell him how much better than the 750 it is. (He might buy a second-hand 750 instead of a new 1000)

Keep this to yourselves though, I don't want Hamish to know I have plans to change his mind....

If he rides a 750 after the 1000 he's going to be a bit disappointed. He could probably pick up a mint 750 for 22k-25k but I'd almost say it's not worth it. The bargin a year ago would of been a new 750SR (stock F4 with SPR motor) for around $32k. Bugger!! $4k cheaper than I paid for my F4 in 2001 and it has the SPR motor!!

If I was Hamish (married to Lynda hmmm best not to think to hard about that one!) then I'd wait for a mv1000 to come up on the 2nd hand market in a couple of years. That's what I'll be doing

Has be thought about a Brutale ??? I could sell him mine, then when I get a mv1000 I might even let him ride it
