Another NZ road trip and Aus...

    Hey,

I'm thinking of doing another NZ road trip in Jan/Feb 2009 and I was just wondering if anyone else would be keen on coming along for the joyride?

I totally enjoyed the last trip I did, but being by yourself tends to get abit boring when you get off the bike - can only amuse yourself for so long having a conversation with yourself! The last trip (May 08) was to learn how to ride more than anything else, I want to make this trip more of a sights and sounds trip rather than focusing on staying on the bike! (which I'm way better at now!) I'll prob still be on the 250 (will have my full though) just can't afford a 650 or 750 yet!

Probably be for about 3 weeks, start in Tauranga, go to Cape Reinga, then Bluff then back to Tauranga (or go to Bluff, then Cape Reinga then Tauranga), but passing through the East Cape, Taranaki and the Coromandel into the trip.

Also - is there anyone on there that has done Australia? I'm thinking of doing Aus late 09 or early 2010 (might go in Winter there, or Spring) and basically going from Brisbane to Perth, then Perth to Brisbane but different routes both ways. I managed to stumble upon this link:

Which is about a dude who travelled 12,000 km across Aus (10,000 of which was gravel or dirt). Really good read and sounds like a top bloke. If anyone has done Aus and has some good stories/advice, I'd be interested to hear it!

    Mostly dirt and gravel though.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

Thanks heaps for that link - haven't read through the whole thing yet (there's a lot - which is good!), but it looks like you had heaps of fun!

East Cape Cape Egmont Cape Reinga Bluff go on the Southern Cross road Rally in March and you will have around 100 bikers for company plenty of info on this site
If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.
