    A trip around the block

    Hi there
Started training for The Capital 1000K Cruise today with a trip around the block.
Starting at Hawera this morning at 6am thinking I’d beat the wind. Got to Wanganui gassed up and headed for the Para Para’s where I discovered by starting early I bet the wind but got the fog, instant, visor fog up and the fog was that thick you couldn’t see past the handle bars. Very slow trip to Raetahi. Stopped for a pie and a coffee. Onto Taumarunui and gassed up again. Then on to Pio Pio for another coffee and a chat to some other bikers. Headed back to Hawera over Mt Messenger with a quick stop in Inglewood to relieve a numb bum. Total trip 530 km.

    Cheers Dan

That Mt Messenger is dodgy eh! There was a giant pothole on a tight corner just before the tunnel last time I went that way.
