    Increase compression?

hi i have the aircooled model cheapy but with anodised tripple clamp and
    5 spoke rims..
i just brought the racing exhuast off trademe
and cut a hole in the lower part of stock airbox
1 to 50 of 106 leaded race gas on castrol tts
tapd the spark plug point gap down a notch

i have a question about modify the engine

can you grind the barrel down a few mill to increase tdc compression

would you have to modify the ports?

    thanks

You have an airbox? I've always run my watercooled without a filter.

It is possible to mill down the barrel but you have to remember that depending on where you shave it of the exhaust and intake port may be at a different degree of revolution, this can be good and bad.

I haven't done it but I'm sure someone has and should be able to make me look dumb and tell you everything that you need to know.

this flows the stock airbox hardout but keeps it clean too,,,
you can see through the foam.
throttle is a tad more responsive
and u can almost hear 100-200 extra rpm compared with running them open

alot better than the cheap pods there like a cardboard

Here's something to just ponder on some of the most worn engines are winning the standed class in the NZMMRC points rounds.. this is because a loose engine revs hard but suffers toque off the line... drop the bottom ring and see how it preforms... usaly removing the base gasket and lapping the crankcase to barrel on a std engine will give you round .5-.8 squish but some odd ball engines need the base gasket so as the piston dosn't contact the top of the dome.. port timming is not affected to much when your using a barrel made in china... tollarances are up the wack anyway lol
