White definitely needs to be offset against something, be it the engine or decals.

I've just found this picture here. And I thought Kawasaki wasn't doing white sportbikes!

Oh, forgot to say, my neighbour at work has a burnt orange Lamborghini Spyder, it looks neat with the black roof. Will post a picture tomorrow. It's not bad for a slow old cage.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Ahh yes. I've also just remembered the GSX-R1000 came out in orange with all the carbon fibre bits.

Hmm, the orange just doesn't work for me. And for loads of others as well, despite the bling (carbon freebies), they usually sit for a while before a new owner is found...

You're right. I certainly wouldn't buy an orange Gixxer if I was in the market for one again. Now yellow, I could do...

If you take this statement and apply it to bikes, I would have to agree with it considering we’re seeing the bikes becoming predominantly more white and manufacturers suddenly bringing them out when we’ve never really seen them in that colour before. Just take the 848, for example.

Here are a few of the 08/09 models to prove my point:

So, what's the verdict. Is white the new black?

You forgot buell 2003 and 2008
