[QUOTE=MotoGirl;1766078]I recently heard a comment stating that white is apparently the new black (this was used in the context of a Lamborghini). If you take this statement and apply it to bikes, I would have to agree with it considering we’re seeing the bikes becoming predominantly more white and manufacturers suddenly bringing them out when we’ve never really seen them in that colour before. Just take the 848, for example.

Here are a few of the 08/09 models to prove my point:

You forgot buell 2003 and 2008

Wow, there's so many white bikes when you start looking into it
That Triumph doesn't look like a bad wee example, either!

New Gixxer in White and black is DAMN fine. Saw it in Barcelona...dunno if we get that colour scheme in NZ??
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

The ZX14 and Hayabusa look like crap in those pics.
The ER6n/K1300s and the 848 look smart.
    I would own a K1300s in a flash....in any colour.
But theres no way in hell I would spend that kind on money on a bike.

Theres a cool looking ZX14 in TGA at the moment for sale...very nice blue, when I saw it I thought, damn, I bought too soon!

I liked the k1 and k2 yellow, that worked well.

Huh? You mean, there's no way you'd spend that money on your kids, your life saving operation, the ransom for your wife (I'm being silly, no matter how much money they're willing to give you, don't take her back), because you already spent that much money on a bike...

I was thinking earlier today about respraying a '04 ZX10R in white (when I get one). I thought it was an awesome idea as you hardly see many white bikes around. Pity it seems to be a trend now.

As long as the wheels are black , white bikes rock. (coz otherwise takes ages to clean)

Agreed. White would have to be the most impractical colour for a bike, its gunna be trendy for 5 minutes [well maybe for the latte sipers who take it out once a month to square the tyres off] but for the real motorcyclist on the perch everyday the bike will look plain dirty 95% of the time.
White is a way of selling lotsa new bikes that will go out of fashion very quickly.
