you need the serial number off the frame. What type of bike is it? Your best bet is to ring up a bike shop with the model and serial numb of your bike and they will tell you straight away

If its a Kawasaki - scott411 from Mr Motorcycles will be able to tell you - frame number he will need

i dont know if applys to all bikes but on later model yamahas
the 10th number in tne serial number found on the frame neck is year of manufacture
