    Weekday ride

Interesting.......This morning I went for a ride round one of my regular Sunday routes.......NOT as much fun as on a Sunday. Why not? Juggernauts, that's why not...millions of bloody great truck and trailer units on MY road!!!! Bastards think they have as much right to use a public road as I do!!!

Seriously though, it was a much harder ride than usual with high volumes of heavy traffic on the road - not so much going the same way as myself (you can rocket past those ones....), but coming the other way. The curtain of compressed air that spills out from in front of these things is quite solid at times - enough to lift the weight of a middleweight bike to a disconcerting level - especially when you are leaned over in a corner - unless tucked way down over the tank.....funny I haven't noticed this to the same extent before now...but perhaps it relates to the fact that this was an out of the way route and the trucks were hardly restricting their speed to the regulated 90k....still, it was a good mind clearer - and made me think - again.......

Yeah - SH 39 between Pirongia and Hamilton this morning......I have a wee loop from Hamilton to Ohaupo, thence west through Paterangi to Te Awamutu to Pirongia and return to Hamilton...about 40 minutes at legal speeds.....which of course I ALWAYS adhere to.......

Good to hear it. Don't want to risk any extra road tax while you're out'n'about.
You're a TopBloke, and all that.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Two weeks ago I did Hamilton to Pirongia to Otorohanga to Kihikihi, across through Parawera to Putaruru, thence to Karapiro, over the dam to Leamington and back home - that was 200km...nice ride (although me bum died after two hours plus on the greyhound........)
