I rode across from the shore on scoot this morning, riding with a Harley following (custom painted in yellowish/orange), we found a Police station wagon on the bridge, and followed it with restraint for awhile. Then Harley guy opens the throttle and gives it a nudge through the traffic. I just pull over into the next lane and wait for the inevitable - sure enough, Plod turns on the lights and starts pushing through the traffic to chase.

Now, theres a reason why teenagers go surly and quiet in front of their parents, and why you hid your activities behind the bike shed. I once sat through a law lecture where our prof put a stack of books on the table - he turned to the class and asked "what are these?". The geeks put their hands up and answered statutes, legislation, laws, rules, etc etc.

Prof says, "no, you're all wrong, this is all the stuff you're not allowed to get caught doing...".

So, Harley guy, send us an update, did you have a chat, or did you slip the net untouched...?

Its an acquired skill getting past the fuzz without setting their lights off. Bottom line is wait until you can pull some legal trick that they can't touch you on, then just ride away from them - far far easier on a bike than a car. If they pull you up just laugh at them.

i had this happen. was riding up a hill with a passing lane and a cop was sitting at 70k so i indicated, checked my mirrors pulled out and passed him then indicated again, checked he haddent speed up or any thing like that and moved back . then up over the hill red and blues come on.

pull over. get off. he comes up 2 me and says "why such a hurry"
im like im in no hurry. "why did you pass me then" coz you were going 70k in a 100k zone. i didnt do any thing illegal.

"OH........UM...... ride safe."

then turns and walks back to his car.

wasting my time.
